Does your tween or teen looking forward for Thanksgiving? Is it more of the food they like or just because they are out for a fall break?

Our kids don’t get a fall break but they get a long weekend so as much as they like the food it’s definitely the staying up late and sleeping in that they look forward to the most! LOL

My daughter only had Wednesday, Thursday and Friday off during Thanksgiving week.

My older kids did, too, when they were in school.

Not really.  They look forward to the time off school.  They get a long weekend(Wednesday, Thursday and Friday), but they have a long winter break.

We only get one week off for Christmas here. They are talking about bringing spring break back also. They chopped up the school calendar so they had random days off during the school year.

No spring break!?  My kids would not be happy.  The days off during the year they would like.

        Yes, they will.

But it does have it’s drawbacks too.  We start earlier and finish later than several districts around us. I think the district does it this way because we have a large percentage of students were transferred here(military) and a large racial/ethnic mix, so many may go out of town.  So to cut down on absenteeism, they have a longer break.

That does make a lot of sense.

No doubt, it is the time off. Mine likes to be able to sleep in.

This is only her second year of regular school. She was home schooled before that.

She prefers ham to turkey. She likes the meat and cheese plates with different crackers.

Did she like homeschooling? How was doing homeschooling?

Yes, she did like it. She misses the flexibility of homeschooling.

She did need more social activities. Our income or her father didn’t want to pay for lessons and things that would encourage that. She was ready for a change and she is adjusting ok. It certainly is different for her.
