Celebrating America’s independence
The fourth of July is the celebration of the declaration of Independence from Great Britain in 1776. It is also referred to as the birth of the United States of America as it became an independent nation. The official Continental Congress declaration date is the second of July, 1776. The declaration of Independence was written and signed by Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, and John Adams.
The celebration includes paid holiday for workplaces that recognize the national holiday allowing Americans to celebrate traditional activities such as parades, barbeque, community activities, decorations, and firework displays.
